Polenta - recipes and tips

Have you ever tried polenta?

The most used base cereal for polenta is corn which gives it its characteristic yellow color, but you can use spelt or rye, or buckwheat.

Accompanied with stewed meat, soft with a fish soup or grilled accompanied by cheeses. Let's see together how to prepare it with some small recipe to make it unique.

Let's prepare the polenta together: boil a pot of salted water. Servings: 2 liters of water per 500gr of polenta. Bring to a boil and cook the polenta for about 50 minutes. This is the basic recipe.  Now let's see together some variations.

Polenta with mushrooms
Veg option, polenta with mushrooms. Cook the mushrooms with a clove of garlic and parsley. Serve hot.

Soft polenta with beef sauce
Cook the classic meat sauce and serve with a soft polenta. Soft polenta is obtained by decreasing the doses of the basic recipe. It is also possible to accompany it with a fish soup in this case you can cook the polenta in a fish broth. Or the classic wild boar stew, ideal for winter days.
