Closing this special ranking, in fifth position, is the winery Domaine de la Romanée-Conti. It is widely considered among the world's greatest wine producers, and the bottles DRC are among the most expensive in the world. It is named after the domaine's most famous vineyard, Romanée-Conti.
In fourth position we find Familia Torres. Founded in 1870, Torres is the family winery with the largest vineyards in the Denomination of Origin (DO) of Penedès and the largest winery in Spain.
Third position for Penfolds, which also wins the award for the most admired wine brand in Australasia. Penfolds is an Australian wine producer founded in Adelaide in 1844; it is one of Australia's oldest wineries and is currently part of Treasury Wine Estates.
Second place for Catena Zapata, holder of the 2020 award, which also wins the award for the most admired wine brand in South America. Bodega Catena Zapata is a family-run winery located in Mendoza. The winery was founded in 1902 by Italian immigrant Nicola Catena and was passed on to his son Domingo. Domingo's son, Nicolás Catena Zapata, was a pioneer in introducing European winemaking techniques to Argentina, including the introduction of Malbec and the cultivation of vines at high altitudes.
In first place was Cantina Antinori, which, as reported by Drinks International, impressed with its high quality and consistency. Cantina Antinori also won the 'most admired wine brand in Europe' award. Marchesi Antinori is an Italian wine company that can trace its history back to 1385. They are one of the largest wineries in Italy and their innovations played an important role in the 'Super-Tuscan' revolution of the 1970s. Antinori is a member of the Primum Familiae Vini and the tenth oldest family-owned company in the world.
